Doug Beal, a three-time Olympic coach, summed it up simply, “The best players are those who play the best…”. Since we play a ton more in training than in a match, you must play the best in practice to earn a spot in competition.
The stronger the team and level of play, the smaller the difference between a starter and a bench player when competition rolls around. Only half of our 12-player Olympic rosters are on the court during a match. The others are watching from the sidelines.

If a Parent/Player registers for any Potomac Storm VBC program and then, for any reason, refuses and/or fails to participate in the Potomac Storm Volleyball Club's program and follow ALL Potomac Storm Volleyball Club rules and policies, it is understood that NO REFUND shall be required to be paid by Potomac Storm Volleyball Club.
Being selected for a team DOES NOT guarantee that a player will start and/or play in tournaments. Starting positions and tournament playing time are earned in practice, scrimmages, & tournaments and determined according to the opinions of the Potomac Storm VBC staff.
Coaches will determine, based on stats, attitude, attendance, and adherence to rules, which players have earned the starting positions and tournament playing time.
PSVBC Playing Time Policy:
Potomac Storm Volleyball Club Parents AND Players should NOT approach Potomac Storm VBC Staff, regarding playing time questions and/or comments. Parents and Players should NOT make any negative comments to or about any Potomac Storm VBC player's performance or playing time.
** Practice Players DO NOT play in tournaments.
Travel volleyball Parents who want to discuss THEIR PLAYER with the coaches, should email POTOMAC STORM. We will schedule a meeting with the coaching staff as soon as possible. Potomac Storm Volleyball Club's President and/or Club Director will make every attempt to attend such meetings. Please allow up to 7 days for a response.
